SFM History

APRIL 1998

  • The first ever Shree Parshva Padmavati Mahapoojan hosted by Shri Bharat Jasani & fly was performed under the auspices of Pujya Gurudev Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj.
  • The auspices Bhoomi Poojan on the plot of land owned by Bharat Jasani was performed by Maharjsahib.
  • Pravachans were organized in KL (3), Melaka (2) & Penang (1).
  • Whole event was planned, organized & sponsored by Bharat Jasani & family.
  • The idea to establish Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia proposed by Bharat Jasani & accepted by Pujya Jinchandraji Maharaj.
  • A yatra to visit Gujarat & Rajasthan was planned for Jan 1999.


JANUARY 1999

  • A group of 32 devotees left Malaysia for India for a 14 days yatra to Tithal, Ahmedabad, Mount Abu, Akshardham, Mahudi, Shankheshwer, Kumbhariaji, Ambaji, Ranakpur & Udaipur.
  • Pujya Shri Kirtichandraji Maharaj led & accompanied the yatra group.


FEBRUARY 2000

  • Pujya Shri Kirtichandraji Maharaj led a group of 5 trustees (with their spouses) of Shantiniketan Sadhana Kendra, Tithal, India to visit Ipoh & convey their blessings for the setting up of SFM. A dinner was hosted in KL in their honour which was well attended.
  • The formation of Shantiniketan Foundation was official announced at the event by Pujya Maharajsahib.


JULY 2000

  • The Trust Deed of Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia was signed and SFM was legally formed.
  • Bharat Jasani invited Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj for this historic event and also to bless & supervise the beginning of the construction works on the Jain temple in Ipoh.


AUGUST 2000

  • The beautiful pratimaji of Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Bhagawan was welcomed with great reverence & devotion at Shantiniketan Sadhanan Kendra, Tithal. The beauty of the pratimaji became the talk within the Jain community throughout India. Visitors from all over India started flocking to Tithal for darshan.


NOVEMBER 2000

  • Bharat Jasani invited Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj to visit Ipoh to oversee the progress work of the temple. He improvised & suggested to include a gabharo for Bhagawan and placement of Matajis’ pratimaji.


JUNE 2001

  • Bharat Jasani invited Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj to visit to Ipoh to supervise the progress work of the temple. Suggested to design & construct a Shikhar on the top of the temple & have a separate entrance door for the temple for others to seek darshan.


DECEMBER 2001

  • Bharat Jasani invited Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj to visit Ipoh to oversee the finishing touches of the temple & to finalise the preparations of the Pratistha Mahotsav. The programme for the Pratistha Mahotsav was drawn & planned.


FEBRUARY 2002

  • A three day Pratistha Mahotsav was planned from 2nd Feb to 4th Feb 2002.
  • About 1000 devotees from all over Malaysia, Singapore, India & USA attended the mahotsav.
  • For the first time in the history of Malaysia a caturvidh sangh was gathered in Malaysia. The sangh was led by Pujya Shri Kirtichandraji Maharaj, Pujya Jinchandraji Maharaj, Pujya Sadhviji Malyakirtiji Maharaj & Pujya Sadhviji Ramyakirtiji Maharaj with 85 Sravak & Sravikas from India.
  • H.E. The Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia Mrs Veena Sikri graced the event. 
  • 5 professional cooks were brought from India to prepared authentic Gujarati dishes for the 3 days festival.
  • Procession led by St John Ambulnce’s band, Lion & Dragon dance & vintage cars with Bhagawan & Mataji’s photos was held on the second day. 450 devotees participated in the 1 km procession.
  • Well known professional singer, Sheila Sethia with her musical group was invited to perform during the 3 days religious ceremonies and at the evening Bhakti sessions.
  • A Bharat Natyam group performed various bharatnatyam dances to the tunes of Jain Stavans – first time in the world.
  • The pratistha mahotsav was hosted by Bharat Jasani & family.
  • After the pratistha Bharat Jasani & family handed over the management of the temple to Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia.


JULY 2002

  • About 100 members of the Gujarati Association of Wilayah Persekutuan & Selangor visited the Jain Temple in Ipoh in conjunction with their ‘A Spiritual Journey- Our Own Religious Week’ - part of their 25th Anniversary.


DECEMBER 2002

  • The Doshi Parivars of Singapore & Malaysia organized a 2 day Dharma Yatra for their 60 family members to Ipoh Jain Temple. The yatra was proposed & planned by Shri Pravinbhai Doshi (‘The Director of Marketing’ for the Ipoh Jain Temple) & hosted by his son, Shri Satishbhai Doshi, Singapore.


JANUARY 2003

  • SFM celebrated the 1st Anniversary of the Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple on 1st & 2nd February 2003. Pujya Bandhu Triputi Maharaj led a 35 member Chaturvidh Sangh from India for the celebrations. About 400 devotees from all over Malaysia, Singapore & India attended the event.
  • Various Bharat Natyam dances were performed on the life of Lord Mahavir.
  • Organised various dharma aradhanas (Shree Parshvanath Prabhu Mantra Aradhana, Mata Padmavati Devi Mantra Aradhana & Guru Gautam Swami Mantra Aradhana) & pravachans in Kuala Lumpur & Melaka.


NOVEMBER 2003

  • Shree Gujarati Vanik Sangh , Melaka organized a mini yatra for members & their Jain Path Shala students. About 68 members took part.


DECEMBER 2003

  • Shri Manoj Haran, well known Jain Vidhikarak from Goa, led a sangh of 180 devotees from Chennai to visit Ipoh Jain Temple. They spend half a day to perform darshan & seva pooja in Ipoh.


FEBRUARY 2004

  • SFM celebrated the 2nd Anniversary of the Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple. About 350 devotees from all over Malaysia & Singapore attended the event.
  • SFM decided to purchase the neighbouring adjoining plot of land to accommodate the increasing flow of devotees regularly visiting Ipoh.
  • Organised pravachans of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj in Johor Baru, Melaka & Kuala Lumpur.


APRIL 2004

  • Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj visited Malaysia to perform the Sthapana Ceremony of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami in the Smt. Lalitaben Harsukhlal Kamdar Jain Bhuvan.
  • SFM concluded the purchase of the adjoining plot of land during Pujya Gurudev presence.
  • The purchase was made possible with generous contributions & support from devotees all over Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Dubai, Hong Kong & Australia.


JANUARY 2005

  • SFM celebrated the 3rd Anniversary of Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple by organizing the first ever Shree Yantra MahaPoojan. The event was well attended with about 400 devotees.
  • Pujya Gurudev performed the Bhoomi Poojan on the adjoining land. The construction works on the guest rooms etc commenced thereafter.
  • Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj visited Singapore on the invitation of Shri Rajeshbhai Sheth & friends. Pujya Gurudev performed the first ever Shri Parshva Padmavati Mahapoojan in the Singapore Jain Religious Society Sthanak. Various pravachans were also held during the visit.


DECEMBER 2005

  • SFM assisted Shri Atulbhai & Smt Shilpaben Jogani of Bangkok to organized the first ever Shibbir  of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj in Thailand. The shibbir was hosted By Shri Atulbhai Jogani family and about 250 devotees attended the 3 day Gyan Shibbir in Saraburi.  About 25 family members of SFM Board of Trustees & Committee attended the shibbir.

 

FEBRUARY 2006

  • SFM celebrated the 4th Anniversary of Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple and also organized the Opening Ceremony of the extended premises by performing the Kumbha Stapna, Nav Graha Poojan & Mata Padmavati Poojan. The opening ceremony was performed by Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj.
  • Shri Atulbhai Jogani led a delegation of 35 devotees from Bangkok.
  • Donor’s Appreciation Ceremony was organized to honour all the donors of the Building Fund.
  • About 400 devotess from all over Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand & Dubai attended the event.


MARCH 2006

  • SFM assisted Shri Manojbhai & Smt Dinaben Thacker to plan & organize a visit of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj to Dubai. Shri Manojbhai sponsored the visit of Pujya Gurudev to Dubai. He organized various pravachans & poojans in Dubai.


FEBRUARY 2007

  • SFM grandly celebrated the 5th Anniversary of Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple. In conjuction with the celebrations SFM also celebrated the 60th birthbay of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj. A Chaturvidh Sangh of about 35 devotees from India led by Pujya Shri Kirtichandraji Maharaj, Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj & Pujya Sadhviji Ramyakirtiji Maharaj together with Jain dignitaries attended the celebrations.
  • Shri Rajendra Jain, a world renowned singer performed at the Jin Bhakti, A Musical Journey, a tribute to Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj & celebration of the 5th Anniversary.
  • Various Jain & community leaders from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Penang, Bangkok & Melbourne attended the event to convey their respects & wishes, and honour Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj. And to join in the 5th Anniversary Celebrations.
  • Shri Manojbhai Thacker of Dubai designed & commissioned special wrist watches with Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj iconic image on the dial and incorporating various religious elements. These wrist watches were distributed to the devotees of Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple & Pujya Gurudev as a token of appreciation & rememberence, thanks to the generousity of Shri Manojbhai Thacker & family.
  • Professional cooks from India were brought to prepare authentic Gujarati & Indian dishes.
  • About 680 devotees from all over Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia & Australia graced the event.
  • Shri Nitinbhai Doshi of Melbourne, Australia was so moved by the celebrations that it inspired him to established a Jain temple in Australia. He vowed that till his dream is not realized he will refrain from taking any sweet dishes. SFM pledged its full support & guidance, under the blessings of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj.


DECEMBER 2007

  • Shri Atulbhai & Smt Shilpaben Jogani organised & hosted the second Shibbir in Kanchanaburi, Thailand for about 250 devotees from Thailand, India, Malaysia & Singapore. SFM assisted in coordinating the various pravachans & visit of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj. SFM was represented by 6 family members of the Board.


JANUARY 2008

  • SFM celebrated the 6th Anniversary of  Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple. In conjuction with the celebrations and due to the requests from devotees SFM once again organized the auspicious Shree Yantra Poojan.
  • SFM also organized Uvassagaharam Sotra Aradhana in Kuala Lumpur & Melaka.
  • About 250 devotees from all over Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia & Thailand participated in the celebrations.


APRIL 2008

  • With the blessings & guidance of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj, Shri Nitinbhai & Smt Meenaben Doshi, Melbourne, Australia established the first Jain Temple within the compound of their home in Melbourne. SFM assisted & guided Shri Nitinbhai to establish Shree Melbourne Shwetambar Jain Sangh which manages the Jain Temple in Melbourne.
  • The pratistha mahotsav of the Melbourne Jain temple was grandly celebrated with devotees from all over Australia, India, Malaysia & Singapore. About 15 devotees represented SFM during the mahotsav.
  • The Jain Community leaders from Sydney, Brisbane, Perth & Auckland, New Zealand attended the celebrations. They were all inspired by the celebrations and were motivated to have a jain temple of their own in their respective cities.
  • After the pratistha Pujya Gurudev visited Sydney, Brisbane & Perth.


JUNE 2008

  • SFM organized the first ever shibbir in Malaysia under the presence & auspicies of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj & Pujya Sadhviji Ramyakirtiji Maharaj. The theme of the 3 day shibbir was Science of Karma – Understanding the Karmic Theory.
  • The shibbir was held at the Equatorial Hotel in Cameron Highlands. The shibbir was attended by 160 devotees (beyond the expectations of the organisors) from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, USA & Australia. SFM had to refuse many last minute applicants due to unavailable of rooms at the resort.
  • After the Shibbir, SFM organized a Dharma Yatra Tour of Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj to Surabaya & Jakarta, Indonesia on the invitation of Shri Niketbhai Parikh, Shri Hansitbhai Shah, Shri Rajeshbhai Shah, Shri Sandeepbhai Bafna & Shri Shaileshbhai Shah. During the 6 days yatra Pujya Gurudev performed various poojan & addressed various pravachans in both the cities. Since Bharat & Taru Jassani were coordinating the yatra they accompanied Pujya Gurudev on the trip.


FEBRUARY 2009

  • SFM  celebrated the 7th Anniversary of the Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple. Mata Sarasvati Devi Mahapoojan was also organized in conjuction with the celebrations. About 250 devotees from all over Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand & Indonesia attended the celebrations.
  • After the celebrations Pujya Gurudev once again visited Jakarta on the invitation of the Jain community there.


MAY 2009

  • A Jain Sangh of 85 devotees from Pune, Maharashtra, India visited the Ipoh Jain temple to seek darshan & perform seva pooja. 


JULY 2009

  • The Jain Pathshala of Kuala Lumpur organized a day trip to Ipoh Jain Temple for their 40 young members & students together with the Pathshala teachers. 


AUGUST 2009

  • A Jain Sangh of 98 devotees from Hubli, Karnataka, India visited the Ipoh Jain Temple to seek darshan & perform seva pooja.


NOVEMBER 2009

  • About 70 devotees of The Sai Baba Center of Penang visited the Ipoh Jain. Had bhakti & bhajans in the temple.


FEBRUARY 2010

  • SFM celebrated the 8th Anniversary of the Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple. Uvassagaharam Sotra Aradhana was organized in conjuction with the celebrations. About 280 devotees from all over Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia & Dubai attended & participated in the celebrations.
  • After the anniversary celebrations Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj visited Jakarta. The Jain community there organized various poojans & pravachans.
  • Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj visited Australia to perform the pratistha ceremony of the Jain Temple in Sydney which was inspired by the Jain temple in Melbourne. The Jain community leaders had attended the pratistha mahotsav in Melbourne and were inspired by Pujya Gurudev.
  • Pujya Gurudev also visited Melbourne to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary Celebrations of the Jain temple, Brisbane & Auckland, New Zealand.


APRIL 2010

  • Shri Gujarati Seva Samaj organized a day trip for their members (65 members) to visit the Ipoh Jain temple. 


JANUARY 2011

  • SFM celebrated the 9th Anniversary of the Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jain temple. The first ever Nav Graha Poojan was organized in conjuction with the celebrations. About 230 devotees attended & participated in the celebrations.
  • SFM organized various pravachans in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka & Penang.
  • SFM also assisted Jakarta Jain community to organize a mini shibbir in Bali. Pujya Gurudev visited Jakarta & Bali for 6 days before the Anniversary Celebrations in Ipoh. 


FEBRUARY 2012

  • SFM celebrated grandly the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jinalaya.
  • Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj & Pujya Sadhvi Shri Ramyakirtiji led the celebrations with representatives from various Jain Sanghs from USA, Kenya, Dubai, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka & Penang.
  • Renowned singer, Smt Sheela Shethia was invited to performed for an evening of musical extravanza of devotional & spiritual experience.
  • Pujya Gurudev also conducted the most auspicious 108 Parshvanath Poojan. About 650 devotees attended the function. Dato Veerasingam also graced the event.
  • SFM organized various pravachans in Kuala Lumpur & Melaka.


JUNE 2012

  • SFM assisted Shri Vira Chand Bothra of Singapore to organize the anniversary celebrations of his graha jinalaya located in Sentosa, Singapore. Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj was invited to lead the celebrations. Various pravachans were conducted in Singapore, both in Gujarati & Hindi. All the functions were very well attended.


JANUARY 2013

  • SFM celebrated the 11th Anniversary Celebrations of Shree Cintamani Parshvanath Jinalaya with 24 Tirthankar Poojan, Adhar Abhishek & Dhaja Rohan. Pujya Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj led the celebrations. Datyo Veerasingam graced the event. Renowned singer, Shri Ketan Dedhia was invited for the celebrations.
