Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia

Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia (SFM) is a legally registered Jain Religious Trust established in Ipoh, Malaysia  in 2001 under the blessings and guidance of their Holiness Bandhu Triputhi Maharaj.

Param Pujya Bandhu Triputi, a trinity brotherhood of Jain Monks – His Holiness Late Shree Munichandraji Maharaj, His Holiness Shri Kirtichandraji Maharaj, and His Holiness Shri Jinchandraji Maharaj first visited Malaysia in 1991 along with Acharya Shri Sushil Kumarji Maharaj during their visit to Participate in the World Jain Congress in Singapore. They delivered Spiritual Discourses and Pravachans in all major cities of Malaysia namely Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Penang and Ipoh.

And subsequent chain of events commencing from 1998 led to the formation of Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia. In 1998 Param Pujya Jinchandraji Maharaj visited Malaysia to perform the Shree Parshvanath Padmavati Mahapujan. There was tremendous response from the Jain Community and a large number of devotees attended and participated in the Pujan which was held in Shri Krishna Temple in Ipoh a beautiful city 200 Km north of capital city of Kuala Lumpur. And a suggestion followed by a proposal was made to Param Pujya Gurudev to set up a trust to promote the teachings of Jain religion in Malaysia. Thereafter in February 2000 with the Blessings of the Param Pujya Bandhu Triputi, the Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia was officially launched Pujya Shri Kirtichandraji Maharaj at a formal function in Kuala Lumpur that was attended by Dignitaries and Devotees from India and Malaysia. The trust was formally registered and legally formed in July 2000. Subsequently the construction of Shri Chintamani Parshvanath Jain Temple in Ipoh, Malaysia was initiated by Shri Bharatbhai Jasani of Ipoh, Malaysia. The construction was carried out under the guidance and supervision Pujya JInchandraji Maharaj.

The construction the wonderfully divine temple was completed in February 2004 and a grand Prathista Mahotsav, which was attended by over 1000 devotees from Malaysia, Singapore, India and USA, was conducted under the divine guidance of Param Pujya Kirtichandraji Maharaj, Param Pujya Jinchandraji Maharaj, Param Pujya Sadhviji Malyakirtiji Maharaj and Param Pujya Sadhiviji Ramyakirtiji Maharaj. It was a memorable event with the presence and participation of the Chaturvidh Sangh.

Upon completion of the event the management of the temple was formally handed over by Shri Bharatbhai Jasani to Shantiniketan Foundation Malaysia. The Foundation has since been very active with a number of activities centered around the inspirationally divine temple.
